To Instagram or Not to Instagram…That is the Question. It seems that for some people, this is a controversial topic. We however, think it’s brilliant! If you’re not already using and addicted to Instagram, consider this your fair warning. Once you start, you’ll be hooked…it’s a beautiful thing!
Your guests are going to be taking pictures whether you ask them to or not, so why not encourage them to use the hashtag you’ve provided and share? It’s a simple and fun opportunity for everyone to benefit from this picture-sharing phenomenon! Here’s what you need to do.
Don’t wait until your wedding to start. Once you get engaged, create a hashtag. Make it simple, for example #JaneandJohnwedding. Make sure to take photos of everything from your ring to your wedding binder to your dress shopping adventures, all things wedding.

Share the account name with your guests. You can post it on your wedding website, social media pages, send personal emails, even put it on the save the date and/or invitation. This is great for grandparents and out of town guests who want to feel more connected to you and your wedding plans/events/journey.

Make a sign for your wedding day that will remind guests to use your hashtag for the photos they take.
Tip: Consider asking guests to refrain from using their phones during the ceremony. This could not only be distracting, but may get in the way of your professional photographer.
Now, when you and your new husband or wife are sitting at the airport, you’ll have full access to your wedding via Instagram! Enjoy!

Erica
