The biggest red flag is who they work for: not you. That means if your dress won’t bustle, they won’t be by your side helping you, they’ll be out among the tables making sure the place settings are down. That’s what’s in their job description, so that’s their priority. When you hire a wedding coordinator, their priority is you and your vision. It’s our job (and passion!) to make sure your special day unfolds exactly as you dreamt it would!

They make sure you pay your deposit on time, select your menu with enough notice, turn in your guest count on time, and sign a contract. Oh, that’s right, the contract! That’s another part where a coordinator you hire steps in! A venue coordinator’s goal is to make sure the venue is protected by their contract. Any wedding coordinator worth their salt will make sure you are protected! We are with you on every detail, start to finish. If you’re obsessing about finding the perfect china pattern, so are we!

Venue coordinators oversee your wedding from a venue perspective. Again, this is such an essential element of the wedding but it doesn’t take the place of your coordinator making sure everything is executed just like you dreamt it. A venue coordinator will manage their staff, make sure tables and chairs are set for the ceremony and reception, ensure in house items like ice and glassware for the bar are stocked, and see to it that the catering they are providing is ready to go on time. Once those things are running smoothly, their job is done. In most cases, they hand the bulk of things off to their staff, but sometimes (scary times!) they hand everything over to their staff and leave for the day! None of this is meant to underscore the amazing work that venue coordinators do. Wedding planners and venue coordinators were made to work hand in hand to make your day perfect. It’s just a gentle reminder that a venue coordinator doesn’t work for you. Wedding planners, on the other hand, do, and we live and breathe this stuff!
