That pretty invite suite part of Wedding Paper Diva’s stunning foil collection was a great jumping off point to help inspire a beautiful shoot. We wanted to introduce the use of greenery while still making it feel high end and classic. We love the Verdant Palms Suite and maintained the crisp ivory and cream color scheme with a pop of copper and orange foil.
Danielle Keene of Sheila Mae built us the most delicious dessert spread. When we spoke, we knew we wanted to embrace St. Patrick’s Day and what better way to do that than to build a Guinness Ice Cream Float Bar? It was our own unique spin on the classic sundae bar, complete with Guinness and crushed pretzels for a perfect sweet and salty treat! In addition to the Guinness floats, we wanted a cake that kept with our vibrant and specific colors, so the brilliant Danielle created the most delicious naked carrot cake, adorned with greens and a smear of orange frosting. The combination was not to be believed!
And OH MY GOODNESS, those florals! Veronica of The Bloomin Gypsy took our inspiration to a whole other level of fun! She incorporated tons and tons of funky, tropical inspired greenery into our tablescape and our bride’s bouquet and our groom’s boutonniere. We wanted to give the illusion of ivy, bright greens growing out from every which way. Utilizing the entire spectrum of green, she accented the asymmetrical centerpiece and bouquet with burnt orange Ranunculus and Sunflowers manipulated specifically for our shoot! The finished product was quirky and elegant at the same time, everything that St. Patrick’s Day should be!! The tablescape was finished off with gorgeous tabletop rentals from the wonderful Borrowed Blu. skinny brass taper candles, clean white ceramic china complemented by modern gold flatware and accented with the most perfect trio of glassware: crystal cut wine glasses and champagne flutes with a gold rim and mismatched amber goblets. We tied each place setting together with greenery and the orange dip dyed napkins.
The bride had her hair and make up done by the ever talented Jessica Steingard and showcased a fresh faced, dewy look with a bright red-orange pop on the lip. This neutral look was complemented by the greens we fastened in her hair. We wanted it to look organic, as if our bride had just come from a hike somewhere in Galway. In keeping with the style, our bride wore a jaw dropping off white Claire Pettibone gown from the girls at Chic Little Devil. It boasted cut out sleeves, a style that felt very of the moment; However, the drop waist and lace felt almost folksy and oh so Irish. Our groom was equally amazing and brought such stylishness to our shoot, showcasing a stellar Banana Republic Brown Tweed Suit and we added a burnt orange tie to funk it out.
We had such an amazing experience bringing St. Patrick’s Day to life and are so incredibly grateful to our dream team for bringing this inspiration to life. We can’t wait for an excuse to get back to Madera Kitchen for our next wedding, event, party, or brunch adventure!!
