Take a Moment With Your Groom – Before the night gets away from you, be sure to take a moment alone with your groom. Have a little toast and some private time together away from your guests. This will be a great memory for you down the road and will be a great time for you two to reflect before the party gets carried away!
Soak It All In – take a minute or five and just soak it all in. Look at all of your friends and family that have come to support you in this wonderful journey. Be sure to absorb all of the amazing details that you have spent months and months meticulously planning!
Have Faith In Your Vendors – you have trusted them all along the planning process so have faith that they will make your day perfect. Vendors are in this business because they love weddings and they want to create special memories for you! Trust that they will execute everything you have so diligently planned.
Waterproof Mascara – there is a 99% chance that you will cry at some point during your day if not multiple times. Prepare yourself for the emotional day with waterproof mascara and if you are wearing false lashes make sure the glue can sustain a few tears. Also, toss that wand in your clutch or give it to your MOH for touchups throughout the night!
Relax – deep breaths, it is here! If you don’t try to relax and take it all in, it will be over before you know it. Different brides prefer different methods, mine was one glass of champagne! This settled my nerves right before our first dance! I was much more comfortable showing off my moves in front of everyone!
Let Someone Else Do It – we know you can do it but why not let someone else, after all it is your special day! Kick your feet up and enjoy your morning, take your friends and family up on their offers to help you with last minute details. There is nothing wrong with leaning on friends and family for a bit of help especially if it allows you to enjoy your day a bit more!
Eat Something – it might not seem like you are hungry but that is just the adrenaline! You don’t want to get to the end of the night and be completely famished! You also don’t want to risk a few drinks on an empty stomach, paired with all the excitement it might not have pleasant results! You spend hours thinking and planning your menu so you should benefit as well! Ask your planner to ensure that your food is pre-plated and that you two are served first so you can eat quickly!
Be Gracious – be sure to express gratitude to all of your friends and families that have shown their support for you and your new husband! Remember to thank everyone for coming and celebrating with you!
Let It Go – at this point, you cannot plan anymore. If a centerpiece is on the wrong table or if there are only 99 candles instead of 100 don’t sweat it. I know, you spent months and months planning and you want everything to be perfect but the amazing thing is nobody will notice. Yours guests will be too focused on you and your amazing groom! Don’t let the small things get you caught up, focus on the overall and enjoy your night!
Have Fun – My final piece of advice is to HAVE FUN! Sounds easy enough but between nerves and emotions it can be a bit tough. Be sure to take it all in, enjoy a cocktail with friends, and dance your face off!

We totally understand and appreciate how overwhelming your big day can be but if you can try to keep a few of the above (if not all) in mind, you will be in great shape! There is so much pressure on brides these days but as I so often say, the most important part of a wedding is the marriage the comes out of it. At the end of the day you are marrying your best friend, soulmate, and father of your future children, this should be the absolute best day of your life so you should enjoy it!
