Bridal Party Games
We already know you’ve got the coolest wedding party ever, so even more reason to get your gal pal bridesmaids and groomsmen together for some bonding time! We don’t mean have an intense Q&A but plan a hangout sess apart from the wedding day. And let’s face it, our friends go out of their way to be in the bridal party, so planning something to show your appreciation for them goes a long way. The ideas are endless: from a group paintball day to camping to even competitive “battle of the bridal party” lawn games. So gather your gal pals and your fiancés gang, get together and let your besties get to know each other. The wedding day will be that much more fun, personal and comfortable for everyone.

Bridesmaids Luncheon
If you share our love for hosting brunches and luncheons, you jump at any excuse to get the girls together! And hey, it’s your wedding weekend, so there’s no reason not to have some girl time. With the stress of being a bride and all the many to-do’s, this will be well worth your time… and let a family member help host this for you. We love the idea of having a Bridesmaid Luncheon the day before the wedding as it’s also the perfect time to give your girls any gifts you have for them. They’ll love you all the more!

Guys Day Out
The gents might not have an elaborate luncheon or even think to plan some time for themselves, but we highly recommend it! Who says the men can’t get pampered? Don’t worry, it can still be manly – think an afternoon of golf, a day out on the boat or even a simple afternoon of lunch and beer. Some guys may not be super involved with the whole wedding experience, so creating a set aside time for the groomsmen to be well… just men will bring a sense of comradery to the weekend. And hey, who doesn’t love a good excuse to go grab a beer?

Day After Family Affair
My husband and I had gone back and forth about having a family gathering the day after our wedding… we opted not too due to our early morning honeymoon departure, but looking back, this is one piece to the wedding weekend that I would have made a priority! And if you’re having a lot of family travel in for your wedding, it’s a definite must. Rather than break your necks to jet set at 6am off to your honeymoon, take the day after your wedding to have a family brunch or picnic or a simple family gathering. The actual wedding will fly by so fast, this gives you time to reminisce, chat about favorite moments from the night before and thank everyone for their love and support. Not only will this mean the world to your family, but will fill your heart and start the marriage off on the right foot surrounded by your loved ones!

Set Expectations
Plan early, plan early, plan early. Obviously, as planners you know it’s our job to help keep you on track. But we can’t stress enough how swimmingly your weekend will go if you and your fiancé have planned the slew of events well in advance. And the best part about planning early? You can tie it all in with your wedding stationary. Rather than sending out the typical save-the-date, invitation and RSVP, take it one step further and incorporate the weekend events. Your guests will love knowing the itinerary early and it will amp of everyone’s excitement for your big weekend!
