never expect your bestie to bail on your big day. Rest assured, what seems like the unthinkable has been known to happen. They key is to come out the other side with your friendship (and sanity) intact.

Be Understanding
Whatever the reason, if you were in her position you would hope the bride would be understanding and respectful of what’s going on. Maybe she just got a promotion at work and doesn’t have the spare time. Perhaps the little ones keep her too busy, or maybe she is going through some stressful personal stuff. Before you get too upset, take a deep breath and truly listen to what she has to say. This can’t be easy for her either.
What can you do to help?
It’s heartbreaking having to step away a close friend on such an important day. Sometimes we can’t even imagine taking this journey without her. Take some time and see if there is anything you can do to help her out. If money is the issue, perhaps taking care of her dress will make the difference. Think of other ways she can keep costs down like sharing a room with another bridesmaid. If she is going through a stressful time, maybe she just needs someone to listen. After all, you two are close for a reason and that ring isn’t a free pass to slip up on your side of the friendship duties.
Is there another way she can be involved?
She’s got way too much on her plate right now to go full time with bridesmaid work. But she doesn’t want to leave you
completely high and dry! Think of other ways for her to be a part of your big day! Perhaps she can help seat guests as they arrive, or oversee the escort card table. Or maybe you just need someone you can talk to about wedding stress who isn’t a bridesmaid! Keep her involved and keep her close, that way neither of you miss out!

If she’s really gotta go…
You have to let her. Again, be understanding and suggest that perhaps it would just be easier on her to attend your wedding as a guest. Ultimately, it relieves the stress from you and she can rest easy knowing you understand. And you will still be so happy to see her face smiling at you on your big day.
Relationships have their ups and downs, and friendships are no different. Navigating wedding planning with your best girls by your side can sometimes be tricky, but we done right you will only come away from it stronger!
Until next time!
XOXO
