STEP ONE
Using a ruler, draw out your arrow with 3 tail lines. Shade in half of the arrowhead, and wing out the tail lines for a detailed interest.
STEP TWO
Light the wic of your wax at a 20 degree angle. Let the flame melt the wax and drip down onto your hang tag, rotating as needed. You will need 10-15 drips of wax in a circular pattern to create your seal.
And I swear the tattoo wasn’t matched for this tutorial, pure coincidence!
STEP THREE
Put out the flame and use the end tip of your wax stick to form your seal in a circular motion. This will also help spread out any soot that was created during the burning process for an even color.
STEP FOUR
Place your stamp directly on the wax and let it sit for 5 seconds. Then proceed to rock the stamp back and forth to define your seal.
STEP FIVE
With a ruler, use your best penmanship for your guest’s names and designated table assignments.
STEP SIX
Take your bakers twine and tie a bow at the punched hole of your hang tag and leave the remaining string for hanging where needed. Cards could also be displayed flat with the twine served as decorative purposes.
Don’t be concerned if each wax seal is not perfectly alike, the beauty of wax seals is that it’s meant to be organic and not so perfect. Which is great, because you can’t mess this up!
Different wax colors can signify the table numbers, or give direction to your caterers for specific meal requests such as vegetarian, fish, or that delicious filet mignon.
As always, we wish to make your day as special as it possibly can be. Small detailed elements such as these escort cards can do just that. Until next time, and next tutorial…we hope that we’ve inspired you with some new and creative ideas!
